It’s time to travel again!

After what seems like a very long two years, we are all now free to travel again.

Aside from remembering to pack the essentials like bathers and sunscreen, don’t forget to consider your options when it comes to travel insurance.

You can either go for a one-off travel insurance for each journey, take an annual private travel policy, or if you are in business, a corporate coverage. These policies all have their own terms and conditions, so it is important to get the right advice for what suits your personal circumstances.

Keep in mind, you may think that travel insurance within Australia is not necessary but claims for loss of luggage, missed connections and accident or illness, are common. Also, the return home after a serious illness or accident, can be expensive.

Of course, COVID is still on our minds, so there are some things to note that would apply to most insurers:

  • If you contract COVID overseas you are covered
  • You are not covered for border closures or for quarantine when you cross an overseas border, or travel against government advice etc.
  • Loss of deposits are covered but not if you decide not to travel, only if COVID affects you or your family. (Conditions will apply)

The best advice is to call your Centrewest broker for advice.

Happy travels.
