So you've got an Advisr Insurance Broker Profile. What next?

There are over 3000 insurance brokers listed on Advisr Australia wide, each with an insurance broker profile dedicated to communicating who they are, what they do and where you can find them.

You've signed up for Advisr, built yourself a profile and now you're wondering, what's next? It's a common question we receive, with the real question being, how can I get noticed and get in front of the businesses that I am ready to help.

To know how best to leverage your Advisr profile you first need to know more about how businesses arrive at Advisr and what they do next.

How do businesses find Advisr?

Advisr is the leading place for businesses to connect with an insurance broker online. Advisr is tracking for 100k visits per annum with lead events (calls, enquiries, clicks through to website, etc.) tracking at 10.5k this year. That's a lot of potential clients!

Advisr is built for search engine success.

Did you know that almost 70% of visitors to Advisr arrived via a search engine such as Google or Bing?

When a business that is looking for insurance help starts searching for terms like "Insurance Broker in Melbourne", "insurance for motor mechanics" or an insurance broker or brokerage name, Advisr will regularly appear on the first page of Google results such as the search for "rent default" in the image below. They might click through to one of our location, industry or category pages, directly through to a broker profile page, or in the case below they might land on an article about their search terms.

3 Easy Ways to Get More Views

1. Set it up right

Now that you know how visitors enter the Advisr site you need to make sure that you are visible on those pages. Ask yourself these 3 questions:

1. Am I listed on a location page? This is linked to your address field, so make sure you have an address that's in your target location

2. Am I listed on the category pages I want to be on? eg. Cyber Insurance, Good in Transit Insurance or Medical Malpractice Insurance. This is a dropdown list in the profile tab of your dashboard when you login

3. Am I listed on the industry pages I want to be on? eg. insurance for construction, financial services or NDIS providers. This is a dropdown list in the profile tab of your dashboard when you login

2. Game the algorithm

Some platforms keep their algorithm a secret, so you never know exactly how to be shown at the top of the results on their pages. We like to tell you so that you can do your best to be seen. So here it is:

1. First listed on every page type are featured brokers. Featured brokers generally have much higher view counts than other brokers because they are the first brokers on every page, from locations to categories and the home page. If you want to be found, sign up to be a featured broker. It even comes with a guarantee, find out more about our featured broker packages.

2. Next listed are brokers with reviews. This is the number one way to increase your views for free. This is an absolute no-brainer. Reviews will get you seen but will also motivate businesses to reach out to you. Over 90% of online transactions happen after reading a review. Here's a "how to" for asking for reviews.

3. Last listed are all the other brokers at random. So on pages with hundreds of brokers, like the 339 brokers in Melbourne, the chances of an unreviewed broker being seen are slim to none.

3. Look better than the next guy or girl

The stats are in, and profiles with reviews and a profile pic get 25x more views on Advisr. When a business can see several profiles on a page like "Business Interruption Insurance", they will always click through on a profile with a picture and reviews in preference over any other profile. So here's what you need to do:

1. Add a profile pic. If you have a picture you can use already, great. If not, a smart phone, a brush of the hair, a decent background and a smile will solve the problem for you. Read more about what to avoid in profile pictures.

2. Ask for a review. Flick your 5 best clients an email with your Advisr profile URL, asking them for a review. It'll take you less than 5 minutes and it'll take them less than 1 minute. Remember how critical it was to the algorithm too?

3. Take a look at the checklist below and see what else a killer profile will include.
