How can business owners benefit from working with an insurance broker?

Working with an Insurance Broker allows Business Owners to do what they do best; work on and in their own business.  Insurance Brokers are experts in the field of Insurance and by partnering with one when it comes to the arrangement of your insurance portfolio, Business Owners can rest assured that the insurance element of their business is well taken care of.

Smart, intelligent people who recognise the benefits of working with other experts to ensure that their time, money and effort is being well spent.

What do you love about being an insurance broker?

The variety! In an average day I find myself speaking to  a wide variety of different business owners in relation to a number of different industries.  From owners of Dance Schools to Railway Signalling Technicians, Plumbers to Hairdressers, Home Owners to Commercial Property Owners - it's all in a days work. 

What has been your experience of marketing your services online?

More and more often these days clients are looking for other peoples recommendations when it comes to their own experiences.  Whilst we do have a web page, the majority of our on line activity these days is more related to referral & relationship marketing where we have had the opportunities to build networks, credibility and end up receiving recommendations from others

Do you have a particular area of expertise?

Although Simplex Insurance Solutions has a number of specialised offerings including  Construction, Dermal Clinicians & Dance Schools, we are by no means limited to these areas and have quite a diverse book of business that stretches across multiple different sectors.  My own professional background saw me come to insurance after many years in the IT, Rail Recruitment & Real Estate Industries and I am very fortunate to have had such a diversified career.

Why did you choose it?

I originally entered the insurance industry in the capacity of a Marketing & Human Resources role which over time morphed in to a broking role before becoming one of the owners & Directors at Simplex Insurance Solutions.

Which skills are most important for an insurance broker to succeed in today's market?

Integrity.  Say what you are going to do and do it.  Always be honest & truthful and ensure that you are always putting the clients best interests first.

What areas of insurance should people be aware of over the next 12 months?

CYBER COVER - Both Personal & Business - The increased amount of time people are spending at home, be that working or studying from home, highlights the need for people and businesses to pay careful consideration to the increased cyber exposures faced as a result.   

BUSINESS INTERRUPTION COVER - Business owners should be looking to ensure that they have in place adequate Business Interruption cover to make certain that should they suffer an insurable loss that they will still have an income until such time their business can be back up and running.
