Johnnie Macleod is a seasoned and respected insurance professional with more than 38 years experience across underwriting management, insurance underwriting and broking. From early on, Johnnie discovered a natural flair for insurance, and his career has taken him across three continents and working for some of the biggest insurance companies in the world.
Throughout his career, Johnnie has built a strong track record for achieving results, improving staff development and developing new businesses and offices. He thrives on the challenge of starting from scratch and building something up from a grassroots level. He co-founded aninsurance firm in South Africa in June 1999, and expanded to opening five offices and employing 42 staff members in just three short years. From 2007, while working for a leading international insurance broking firm in Brisbane, Johnnie was tasked with launching a Gold Coast office and then successfully managing a large merger in the Townsville office. Then in 2017, he opened a Cairns office while working as a director at CorpSure Insurance Broking.
In 2022, he founded Knightsbridge Insurance Group, drawing together an energetic team of insurance professionals focussed on a more local footprint, and expertly catering to people and businesses in the regions.
Johnnie is passionate about continuous improvement, for both himself and his team, and he strives to consistently deliver excellence in service and advice while also mentoring and developing those around him.
He gets deep satisfaction out of finding client solutions for hard-to-place risks, and developing new and unique products in line with industry demand. His strong principles of hard-work, honesty and integrity drive everything he does, and Johnnie works closely with clients using an approach which blends tradition and innovation to help them create safer environments in which their business can thrive.
