MGA’s Sydney office is recruiting an Internal Account Manager to manage a portfolio of commercial SME clients, in addition to quoting SME leads whilst working along side the two key Account Directors.

The role is ideal for an Internal Account Executive looking for career development, or a Broker Assistant who can demonstrate strong client communication skills and broking acumen. The role has been created as a result of the growth in the business in the past 12 months.
About the MGA Team
The MGA Sydney team consists of two teams; Commercial and Trades. The team currently consists of 11, with this role taking the number to 12. This role is within the Commercial team, with clients ranging from micro-SME to Corporate style accounts. The team is focused on an excellence in customer service, providing quality advice to our clients and developing ourselves as insurance professionals.
About the Role
Due to the make up of the portfolio, the business requires a qualified Internal Account Manager who is able to managing a portfolio of clients whilst ensuring growth in the portfolio through retention of existing clients, cross-selling new products to existing clients and successfully quoting new business opportunities. The role is supported by a team Administration Assistant, Claims Administrator in addition to MGA's Central Processing Unit (CPU) that processes invoices, endorsements etc.
The successful applicant will be required to undertake the following activities:
- Quoting SME New Business leads that are generated via our existing network and referral sources, across both Sunrise and open market placements.
- Working along-side the Account Director (Authorised Representative) on the end to end management of policy renewal process, ensuring that clients are engaged through the renewal via phone or email and all invoicing is issued in a timely manner;
- Re-marketing renewals where required, this includes the preparation and submission of underwriting submissions to the market;
- Day to day servicing of client requirements such as processing alterations, answering coverage questions and providing documentation as required;
- Management of claims on an as-needed basis when the complexity of the matter requires technical broking input; and
- Directing the Administration Assistant to ensure COCs are issued as required, debtors are managed in a timely manner and claims are lodged immediately.
About You
The successful applicant will have the following skills, experience and attributes to be able to succeed within our business:
- High level of proficiency with Sunrise & other insurer quoting systems
- A genuine enjoyment in engaging with clients on a daily basis
- Passionate about the General Insurance industry
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to build rapport with clients over the phone
- Quick to return client calls and e-mails
- Ability to prepare underwriter submissions for manual policies
- Tier 1 & 2 qualifications
- 2+ years experience in a broking or broker assistant role
- A team player who can also work independently
- Strong time management and organisational skills
