Marsh is seeking candidates for the following position based in Perth: Account Executive.
We have an exciting opportunity for Account Executive to join the Commercial SME Team on a 12 month contract basis.
The position will assist in all aspects of client service, including running a portfolio of mid-market SME clients, administration, technical support and business development, through the efficient and timely production of all policy related documentation.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Account and Team Management;
- Provide professional insurance broking service in accordance with the Service Approach to the existing client base.
- Assist broader team with portfolio management and running own SME portfolio.
- Establishment, development and maintenance of long term relationships with key decision makers.
- Ability to acquire and understand an awareness of the client’s business and insurance needs
- Recognise new business opportunity and identifying products which benefit the client and meet their needs.
- Timely and accurately processing of invoices, policy accounting information, quotations, premium calculations, policy wordings, certificates of currency and all other documentation.
- Assist Senior Account Executives/Principal with the implementation of appropriate account retention and defence strategies.
- Advocating for clients via liaising and negotiating with underwriters and claims managers.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of new technologies, and capabilities of the Company.
Administration & Technical;
- Ensure that accurate up to date records on all clients are maintained at all times.
- Possess a thorough understanding of all major classes of insurance which the Company offers to its clients.
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Fire Services Levy, Stamp Duties, Worker's Compensation and other relevant legislation.
- Comply fully with the Company's errors and omissions avoidance policy.
We would like you to have:
- Tier 1 Broking FSRA Compliance and/or Broking Diploma.
- Associate – The Institute.
- Admission as a Qualified Practising Insurance Broker by the National Insurance Brokers Association of Australia.
- 1-2 years’ experience in broking or insurance sector.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Developed negotiation skills.
- Sound knowledge of general insurance products and services.
- Ability to work autonomously within a multi-skilled team.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, meet deadlines and good time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent client service ability – to be able to anticipate client needs and exceed them.
- Ability to recognise and solve problems whilst thinking outside the box.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new systems quickly.
- Developed business administration skills.
- Vehicle and current driver’s license in order to attend ad-hoc client meetings.
