We're searching across Australia to find our missing piece - a superstar Insurance Claims Officer. Hybrid and Work From Home options available.

As the Claims Officer you will be responsible for overseeing and actioning claims, helping develop and coordinate our internal claims admin team, redefine our claims process and most importantly, provide excellent customer service to our clients going through a stressful period. 
This role would suit an individual with previous experience as a claims handler or loss adjuster who has a sound understanding of commercial insurance claims. 

Ideally, our Claims Officer would be based in Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney, however we are happy to provide remote/work from home solutions anywhere in Australia if you are the right fit for the team.

THE ROLE
The Claims Officer role provides an opportunity to make an impact in an area of our industry that is focused on helping people and supporting them at the time of a loss. This role is pivotal to our team’s success and will require you to:

  • Oversee and action claims in conjunction with our support team/internal claims administrators and Advisers
  • Provide professional claims handling service to our clients and deliver a high-level client experience throughout the entire claims process
  • Use your skills to resolve insurance claims in a timely manner, trying to minimise overall impact to the client
  • Work closely with our Account Executives to negotiate settlements on behalf of the client
  • Liaise and engage with all relevant stakeholders and third parties to ensure that outcomes are achieved promptly for the benefit of the client
  • Manage the expectations of clients, insurers, assessors, claims preparers, building consultants and various repairers 
  • Assist clients with arranging emergency repairs
  • Assist with redeveloping and implementing the business’ claims process
  • Investigate complaints and/or issues and work with the management team to report and resolve
  • Act within legislative requirements

This role also provides fantastic opportunities to progress to a Technical Claims Officer or Claims Manager. 
 
ABOUT YOU
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Commercial Insurance Claims, particularly Property, Liability, Construction, Engineering, Strata and Motor/Plant
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles and procedures for managing insurance claims
  • Responsive and collaborative with a proven commitment to individual and team outcomes
  • An individual who prides themselves on providing an excellent customer experience throughout all interactions with the client
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and provide solutions
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to effectively manage the expectations of clients, insurers and other stakeholders
  • Empathetic and supportive approach to dealing with clients
  • Broad knowledge of general/commercial and domestic insurance products
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and the ability to learn and use various insurer systems and portals
  • Knowledge of claims regulations and legislations
  • Have your Tier 1 Insurance Broking Compliance or Diploma of Insurance Broking, otherwise these qualifications can be gained during your employment
